What a wedding! Last night I had the pleasure of providing all-day wedding entertainment for the new Mr & Mrs Spencer, Jerome and Sheena, from 4pm right through until midnight. This was much more than an evening DJ set, with live sax, surprise singing waiters, an acoustic duo, live drums and a soundtrack that moved through house, drum & bass, reggae and plenty more.
Welcoming Mr & Mrs Spencer with Calvin Harris and Live Sax
We started the celebrations by welcoming Jerome and Sheena into the room as the new Mr & Mrs Spencer. Their entrance track was Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa – One Kiss, made even more special with a live sax player performing alongside the music. It immediately set the tone for what was going to be a very musical wedding day.
Wedding Breakfast and a Surprise for the Guests
After the entrance, I provided background music throughout the wedding breakfast, keeping the atmosphere relaxed while everyone enjoyed the meal.
Then came a surprise the guests were not expecting. Surprise singing waiters suddenly crashed into the celebration and got everyone up, singing and involved. It completely changed the energy in the room and was a brilliant way to move the wedding from the meal into the entertainment.
An Acoustic Duo Before the First Dance
The live entertainment continued with an acoustic duo featuring drums and guitar. With so many different performers involved throughout the day, the wedding almost had the feel of its own mini festival lineup, with each part naturally leading into the next.
First Dance with DJ, Sax and Live Drums
From the acoustic set we moved into Jerome and Sheena’s first dance, where I DJed alongside the live sax player and drummer. Combining the DJ set with live musicians created a completely different atmosphere and gave the start of the evening reception a real Ibiza-style live energy.
We continued with sax and drums alongside the DJ set before moving fully into the evening party.
House, Drum & Bass, Reggae and a Festival-Style Wedding Party
As the night developed, the music moved through a huge range of styles. There was plenty of house, drum & bass and reggae, with the live performances earlier in the day making the whole celebration feel less like a traditional wedding reception and more like a festival built around Jerome and Sheena.
That variety is what made the day so much fun. From a Calvin Harris entrance with live sax to singing waiters, acoustic music, live drums and then a full DJ party, there was always something happening.
Finishing at Midnight with Bob Marley
After eight hours of music and entertainment, we reached midnight and brought an incredible wedding day to a close with Bob Marley – One Love. It was the perfect final song and a brilliant way to finish the celebrations together.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Spencer!
A massive congratulations to Jerome and Sheena, the new Mr & Mrs Spencer. It was an absolute pleasure being part of your wedding day and working alongside such a brilliant lineup of live performers. Thank you for trusting me to provide the soundtrack from the wedding breakfast through to the final song at midnight.
I wish you both an amazing future together and hope you have many more celebrations ahead.
