Claire’s Wedding at Christ The King Parish Centre, Coventry – 100+ Song Requests!

What a brilliant wedding celebrating Claire at Christ The King Parish Centre in Coventry! With around 110 guests and the DJ Wilkes Guest Request Portal switched on, this turned into a really interactive night with more than 100 song requests coming through from the guests.

More Than 100 Guest Song Requests

For this wedding we had the DJ Wilkes Guest Request Portal turned on, allowing guests to send song requests from their phones directly through to my DJ system. By the end of the night, more than 100 requests had been submitted.

That doesn’t mean simply playing every request in the order it arrives. I can see what guests are asking for and use that information alongside what is happening on the dancefloor, choosing the right requests at the right time while still reading the room and keeping the night flowing.

A Big Night of 80s Music

The 80s were a big part of the soundtrack for Claire’s wedding. With so many guests getting involved in the requests, there was plenty of opportunity to move through recognisable favourites and find the tracks that brought different groups onto the dancefloor.

Dance Music, New Pop & Plenty of Variety

Alongside the 80s favourites, we mixed in dance music and newer pop throughout the evening. It made for a really varied wedding soundtrack and meant we could keep changing direction depending on what Claire and her guests were enjoying.

That is exactly how I like wedding DJ sets to work: the couple’s preferences provide the foundation, guests can get involved with requests, and I bring everything together on the night based on what is actually working on the dancefloor.

I was on from 7:00pm until 11:30pm, with around 110 guests celebrating at Christ The King Parish Centre in Coventry. It was a great wedding from start to finish and brilliant to see how heavily everyone got involved with the music.
